Willowcrest Health Services in Oak Creek, WI was presented with an American flag from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 11038 and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 921. The Veterans honored the center during a ceremony attended by members of the Veterans’ families, staff from the center, as well as several residents. Interim Executive Director Sarah Beuth accepted the flag on behalf of Willowcrest. It is displayed in the dining room as a way to recognize the quality level of care that the center continually provides its residents.
In addition to presenting the flag, the Veterans honored five of the center’s staff with certificates on behalf of a resident currently at Willowcrest for rehabilitation. The resident’s father is a Vietnam Veteran and member of the post. The family wanted to recognize Julie Phillips, Admissions Director; Lynn Winter, Rehabcare Director; Carol Serafin, Therapist; Liane Yockey, Therapist; Abby Queen, Life Enrichment Coordinator and her team for their compassion in their daughter’s care. While she has been at Willowcrest, this team of people has been working closely with the resident’s doctors to support her overall care plan and has dedicated countless hours to her therapy and social activities.
Willowcrest is honored to have the Veterans donate the flag and recognize the employees that make a difference in the lives of their residents.
