Director of HR Enjoys Working with Staff & Residents

Troy Oestreich started his career path working for Courtesy Corporation, who owns and operates McDonald’s restaurants in WI, MN and Iowa. Troy worked through his way through school and remained employed with them for about 16 years. He attended Hamburger University and ended his career with them as Area Supervisor, overseeing entire operations of a region.

Troy had then decided he wanted a change so he could spend more time at home, so his path brought him to healthcare. He started working for Oakwood Villa, now North Shore Healthcare’s center Oakwood Health Services. He quickly learned that he enjoyed the aspect of working closely with the staff as well as getting to spend time with residents at the building.  His starting position was Scheduler, but he quickly moved to the HR/Payroll department.  During this time, Troy worked with several Executive Directors, but he says, “I would credit Rebecca Rouse for pushing me to do more.”

In 2015, Troy was promoted to Director of Workforce Management with Fortis Management Group.  He recalls, “I owe a big thanks to Margie Ignarski for supporting me during this time. I enjoyed this role as I was able to work closely with our employees but was still able to provide a positive impact on our buildings and residents.”

From there, in August of 2017 Troy joined North Shore Healthcare.  During his time here, Troy says, “I have enjoyed seeing the company grow and assisting with rollouts of various payroll systems as well as several acquisitions.”
