Two North Shore Centers Earn AHCA/NCAL Silver National Quality Awards

Two North Shore Healthcare centers were recognized as 2023 recipients of the Silver – Achievement in Quality award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) for its commitment to improving the lives of residents through quality care.

The centers that earned this prestigious honor were Cornell Health Services and Soldiers Grove Health Services, both based in Wisconsin. The distinction is the second of three progressive award levels through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. The program honors providers across the nation that meet progressively rigorous standards of performance to further improve the lives of residents and staff in long term care.

“North Shore Healthcare is incredibly proud of our centers for their continued commitment to providing quality care to our residents,” said Tina Belongia, Chief Clinical Officer for North Shore. “Receiving the Silver award shows our centers’ commitment to creating an approach that leads to positive outcomes and successes.”

The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program is a rigorous three-level process that is reviewed and evaluated by trained experts against a set of nationally recognized standards for organizational excellence. The standards of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program help organizations achieve superior performance over time to improve quality of life and care of long term care residents and staff.

“We are delighted to honor Cornell Health Services and Soldiers Grove Health Services for being recognized at the Silver award level,” said Cathy Bergland, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board Chair. “I feel invigorated about the future knowing our members are working diligently to deliver the highest quality care for our residents and congratulate each one for this incredible recognition. This is an important journey for assisted living and all long term care providers.”

The awards will be presented during Delivering Solutions 23, the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo, October 1-4, 2023 in Denver, Colorado.
